Hardanger Bestikk flatware is dishwasher safe. The combination of certain dishwasher detergents and water types may cause dull marks or spots on the flatware. These may easily be removed by using Bar Keepers Friend cleanser and polish.

If such spots appear, we recommend switching to another brand of detergent. Hardanger Bestikk recommends Cascade dishwasher detergent. Royal Pewter should be washed by hand and occasionally polished. Royal Pewter that has become dull due to having been washed in the dishwasher should be carefully polished with the finest steel wool and soapy water. Then it will look nice again.
